2020 was a year that taught us to overcome. Birthing women know how to OVERCOME better than anyone. These women attended appointments alone, cancelled their baby showers, birthed without their mother's and best friend's by their side, and as they always do... OVERCAME. Congratulations to all families who overcame so much this year.

A film following the emotional journey of 10 mothers. We can all relate. This collaborative story of birth in 2019 is one of strength, power and love. As I prepare to embark on my 4th (and last) birth journey, watching these women labour inspired me to feel stronger and braver. Birth is hard and honestly I'm scared... but there is a force in this film that carries over to those who watch it. So thank you to my clients who have allowed me to share their intimate journeys so that others can also be inspired. This year, I happened to be one of those that was impacted... It's such a beautiful experience to walk through multiple birth journeys with a family. This family's second birth story looks so much different than their first. Their first birth happened in a local hospital, although very beautiful and filled with love and support, it was long and had a few unexpected turns. This birth story was completely unique from their last. It started and ended at home, still surrounded by love and support, but much quicker and with so many joyful surprises. And if you don't make it to the end of their birth film to see some of their images highlighted, here are a few moments from their birth story.
Congratulations to this beautiful mama. We have been through thick and thin. Met 21 years ago, lived together in college, watched each other fall and rise, And then we entered into these wonderful years of blessing filled with marriage and new life. It took time for her to conceive and through that journey, we cried through the unknown months and years of waiting. We spent hours praying for this moment right here... She is an incredible mother already and I’m so honoured to have been there to witness her strength and joy. Congratulations dear friend. God is so good. Labouring through the darkness of the night and birthing in the early morning hours on February 14th, this birth story was a beautiful picture of a day filled with love. |
