This mama is carrying her 5th beautiful baby. She knew this was the last member to join their family, and wanted to celebrate the last time carrying life inside her with a very meaningful photo session in nature. We chose Bridal Falls located between Hope, BC and Chilliwack, BC. This session wasn't just about photos, it was about feeling apart of the deeper power within nature. Overwhelmed by God's beauty surrounding us and the vastness in nature, we lost ourselves in the rhythm of raindrops, and strength of these powerful waters. Likewise, she held the same strength. Steady. Capable. Allowing the life inside her to lead. Listening to the ebb and flow of the growth within. And then surrendering to the journey.
Here are a handful of images from our maternity photoshoot in a waterfall.

When Natalie contacted me and told me she was a dancer and wanted to incorporate her love for dance in her maternity session, I was so excited. This session was fun, relaxed and inspiring. We talked and laughed while she danced around in my Mission studio, and then we went outside to finish our session with her partner by the river.
This woman felt very connected to nature while pregnant. She knew she wanted to embrace her connection to the earth and capture that experience with her maternity photos. We planned a unique maternity photo experience in the middle of nature surrounded by tall trees, large roots and this magnificent waterfall.
We didn't intend to take photos in the rain… it was an unintended change of plans when it started pouring only minutes into our session. Since my client had driven so far to reach this gorgeous location, we decided to embrace that we live in rainy Vancouver, BC and shoot her maternity photos in the rain. After all, after one of the hottest summers on record, a little rain felt pretty refreshing. Vancouver… what a beautiful place to raise a family. This family wanted their home and environment to be a part of their maternity and newborn story. I was so grateful to be able to capture their journey in such a cozy environment.
I absolutely loved meeting this mama and sharing a cup of tea with her (she drank her tea in front of the camera and I drank mine behind the camera.) This mama is a power woman that mothers 2 beautiful little girls and runs Eco Diva Beauty, a green beauty products boutique that will change the way you take care of yourself. She recently blogged her Top 10 pregnancy beauty products here, and after using a few of her products, I feel inspired to take care of myself better this year. Enjoy these cozy shots in her home, and stay tuned for her crazy and quick birth story coming soon…
