Enter into the story "The Ultimate Team."
It's always a doula's dream to assist in a birth that she hardly has to assist in. Why? because that means the mother is coping well, or the father is supporting her well. I had the pleasure of attending such a birth last weekend. The mother had incredible spirits after 1 month of constant Braxton Hicks, 5 days of induction, 40 hours in the hospital and 4 hours of pushing. The father barely left her side, adoring and loving her the entire time.
It was inspiring to watch their love support each other through the labour. After the birth I told them if somewhere down the road either partner ever doubts the others love, they just need to revisit their birth photos.
