10 Minutes Late (Abbotsford Home Birth Photography)

You can be ten minutes late to dinner and you only missed the first round of drinks. Ten minutes late to church and song service is cut just a bit shorter. But ten minutes late to a birth... and you can miss the birth. Well, that was the case for this amazing home water birth. Things went so quickly in the end, that by the time they called me, I was ten minutes too late. However I still got there in time to capture the glow on this new mamma's face, the hustle and bustle of the midwives cleaning up, and the joy of the grandparents meeting their 5th grand baby. 

This was extremely special to take part in this birth, as the mom played a roll at encouraging me to become a doula. She herself is a midwife and we have been to a previous birth together when she delivered my nephew Nate at home. Welcome into the world of Motherhood; this experience will only make you a wiser and better midwife. (Maybe you can me at my next birth... delivering?)
