It's always an honour to attend a birth, however in this birth, the main honour was the name honour. I've always loved my name… "Jaydene" It's a beautiful name, and I guess someone else thought so too! The baby born at 3:30 am was named "Angelica Jaydene."
Attending this birth was an amazing gift (as I am half way through my own pregnancy journey.) Pregnancy can be hard at times, and labour can be really hard at times. At some point during labour, a woman believes she cannot go on, that her body can not possibly endure the exhaustion any longer, and usually that's the point where the doctor tells you, "Congratulations, you are 10 centimeters, and ready to push." Luckily, this statement manages to dissolve the despair and allows women to refocus their eyes on the prize. I'm already tired in my pregnancy, and know it's likely going to get harder from here on out, but after seeing the inspiring endurance of a woman in labour and meeting another Jaydene (as she entered into the world) I feel privileged to soon walk the same path, and soon choose a beautiful name for my own baby.
