Lola: Abbotsford Birth Photographer

This birth was incredibly special to me because exactly 1 year earlier I was calling my best friend to come join me and help me birth my daughter. Now, 1 year plus 2 hours later, she was calling me to come support her in her birth journey. As I was driving to the hospital at 1:30am (and crying) I knew she must be having a girl. 3 years prior, we had both had boys together only 5 weeks apart. 

15 years earlier we were just young girls, bouncing around in my bathroom, dying our hair while we belted out "Your just too good to be true" by Lauren Hill. It was our song on repeat as we "cruised the strip" in her white convertible cabriolet. It got us through lots of eventful evenings and lonely evenings. So I had to use this song for her birth video… don't laugh when the song starts. Just know it has so much meaning for us. 

Some events in life are sacred and treasured. I am crying just writing these simple words because it was such a treasured memory to be invited into my best friend's birth room and  witness her welcome her baby girl into her arms. I can hardly wait for our children to grow up together. Hopefully they will only get into as much trouble as we did… no more, no less. 

Here we are as young girls.

And without much further ado… here is Lola's birth story. I still cry when I look through these photos. Lola, your mama is such a strong woman. I witnessed her work very hard to have the birth of her dreams and feel every ounce of you arrive into this world… enlarge the video and grab a tissue.
