This was another great birth story for the books! Amy was originally planning a home birth but when complications arose at 41 weeks, she was induced in the hospital instead. She thought she was going to be induced Saturday, but since things were busy they sent her home and gave her 1 more night to enjoy before starting afresh in the morning. Sunday morning at 8am she went back to the hospital. Things were so busy again that she spent most of the morning watching Tom Cruise movies to pass the time. A few contractions came and went, and she tried walking the halls to get things going, but at 9pm she was still 2cm... so they gave her another dose of induction gel (and I went home to sleep.) I got a text at midnight that she was 3cm, and then a text at 2:03am "I'm 9cm and they are going to break my water." So I leaped up from bed, and was in the car 2 minutes later... except I was in the wrong car with the wrong keys wearing a backwards shirt... I sorted myself out and was at the hospital 35 minutes later.
This little man (who still remains nameless) was born after 20 minutes of pushing. His mama was incredibly strong and brave as they assisted her with vacuum suction. As hospital staff buzzed around her after the birth, she just drank in the beauty of her new baby boy.
Here is my first birth post fully in colour... (just to change things up.)
